No matter what stage of life you are in and no matter your occupation, at some point you will be asked to speak formally in public. You will have to make a presentation. And this scares most people; indeed the fear of public speaking is about the worst fear in the world – more than the fear of death!
This course aims to help reduce people’s anxiety in public presentations and help them become confident and effective public speakers. Speaking clearly and comfortably in public is a valuable and often essential skill to possess. This course aims to provide you with a basic background in the theories and principles of public speaking, as well as practical experience with the basic types of speeches. You will learn the four primary types of public speaking and how to master them:
• Ceremonial Speaking
• Demonstrative Speaking
• Informative Speaking
• Persuasive Speaking
And you’ll practice with expert public speakers. Participants will learn how to research, outline, and deliver short, informal presentations as well as longer speeches.
If you need to engage in presenting formal or informal speeches for different occasions, this course is for you!

As part of the office’s leadership team, Aro played key roles in all business development - proposal, design, implementation and review processes adding value for money strategies, leading to higher success rate. As Head of Media Development (2009-2011), Aro was responsible for designing and delivering all capacity building activities and acted as Project Lead where he interfaced with donors and development partners on Governance, Health and Resilience projects.
From 2005-2008, He produced the award-winning youth reproductive health magazine show “Flava” and the largest HIV Spots campaign in Africa. He also produced environment and climate change output and was Music Producer on the epic HIV focused TV series “Wetin Dey?”
Aro previously worked as a producer with Aso Radio and Internews Network (USAID funded INGO) where he designed and produced Just Jisting - a ground breaking youth talk show that opened up the air space to engaging discussions on reproductive health issues. In 1999 Aro founded Kleverest Scenta - Nigeria’s foremost media volunteer scheme which has produced achievers in various fields. He founded the ‘Kleverest Scenta’ pages which over the years has been a source of development information and career guidance. He is an Environmental and Resources Planner, a music composer, and a sound reinforcement instructor.
